Board members are elected from the general membership for a term of five years. ESDR statutes allow between 13 and 16 Board serving members at one time (maximum of three per country). Typically, applications for Board membership close each year on 31 January and are evaluated by the Board before nominations are put before the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in September of the same year.
The ESDR Board assures the smooth functioning of the society and performs all duties not reserved to the AGM. These duties include managing scientific programs and educational events, developing projects through committees and participating in regular virtual or face-to-face meetings.
The Executive Committee conducts the day-to-day management of the society, financial oversight and staff management. The Officers represent ESDR interests with sister societies and at national and international scientific events. The Executive Committee meets every week by teleconference and at meetings of the full ESDR Board.
Conflict of Interest disclosure form
It is ESDR policy to ensure balance, independence, objectivity and scientific rigor in all its sponsored scientific and educational programs. All members of the ESDR Board, Young Board, committees and task forces, consultants, faculty and others acting on behalf of ESDR must disclose any financial or beneficial relationships with a commercial interest that could be considered a potential conflict of interest and must declare any relationship that may lead to a potential commercial bias as outlined in the ESDR Code of Conduct.
All conflicts of interests are identified and clarified prior to engaging active collaboration with the ESDR.
