The 4th edition of the ESDR Academy for Future Leaders in Dermatology took place from 6-8 November 2014 in Madrid, Spain.
After a welcome from the co-organisers Michael Hertl and Matthias Schmuth, each of the 25 selected mentees presented their current research topics to the group. This was followed by intensive Q & A with their peers and the 12 mentors invited to the Academy.
Throughout the 2.5 day meeting, mentors gave talks focused on their career paths – mentioning good and bad decisions taken along the way and explaining lessons learnt. Each mentor was assigned 2-3 mentees to enable in-depth discussion during the breaks and poster sessions.
The feedback received from participants has been very positive and the ESDR is committed to ensuring that the event will continue. We would like to thank again our industry partners AbbVie, Celgene, Lilly and Pfizer for their generous support in 2014.
