Ning Xu Landén, MD, PhD, is an Associate Professor at Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, Sweden, where she has led a research group in molecular wound healing since 2014. An alumna of the ESDR Future Leaders Academy in 2013, she has established an internationally recognized research program focused on the molecular and cellular mechanisms that control skin repair, with particular emphasis on non-coding RNAs, inflammation, and tissue regeneration.

Her work has contributed important advances in understanding how microRNAs, long non-coding RNAs, and circular RNAs regulate human wound healing and how these pathways can be leveraged to improve healing in chronic wounds and other difficult-to-repair skin conditions. More recently, her group has expanded this work through single-cell and spatial studies of human wound repair, helping to connect fundamental biology with translational opportunities in dermatology and regenerative medicine.

In addition to her scientific contributions, Ning has built a strong profile as a mentor, academic leader, and active member of the dermatology research community. Her work has been recognized by several prestigious awards, including the LEO Foundation Award (EMEA) in 2020. As part of the FLA alumni community, she represents the combination of scientific excellence, leadership, and collaborative spirit that the programme aims to foster.
