Dr Inês Sequeira is a cell biologist specialising in regenerative medicine and cancer. After training at Institut Pasteur and King’s College London, and leading a research team at L’Oréal in Paris, she joined Queen Mary University of London as Associate Professor and Deputy Director of Research. Later this year, Dr Sequeira will be joining the faculty of the newly created NOVA Institute for Medical Systems Biology (NIMSB) in Lisbon. Her research focuses on skin and oral mucosa stem cell dynamics, scarless wound healing, and immune tolerance, integrating single-cell and spatial omics with in vivo and 3D in-vitromodels. Her multidisciplinary career, spanning academia and industry, reflects a translational mindset dedicated to connecting fundamental science, systems biology, and advanced technologies to drive innovation in regenerative dermatology and inspire the next generation of research leaders.
