We are immensely sad to announce that Jouni Uitto, Professor and Chair, Department of Dermatology & Cutaneous Biology at Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia has passed away. Jouni (pictured here in 2019 receiving the Alfred Marchionini Medal in Milan) was an Honorary Member of the ESDR and always actively involved in ESDR meetings. He has made a huge contribution to the advancement of science on connective tissue biochemistry and molecular biology in relation to cutaneous diseases and skin aging. We will remember him for his fast mind, quick wit and gregarious personality and send our heartfelt condolences to his family, colleagues and friends around the globe.
