Anna Balato
Dr. Anna Balato is Associate Professor of Dermatology at the University of Naples Federico II. She received her MD, her training in Dermatology and PhD in Clinical and Experimental Medicine at the University of Naples Federico II.
She was a post-doctoral research fellow at the Department of Dermatology, University of Maryland, Baltimore, USA. She is currently the head of the Cutaneous Physiopathology Laboratory at the University of Naples Federico II. Her areas of scientific interest include molecular mechanisms of immune-mediated inflammatory skin diseases, mainly psoriasis. In particular, she focused on the osteoclastogenic profile in psoriatic patients, the involvement of IL-1 family in different inflammatory skin diseases and the role of IL-26 in cutaneous incompetence of hidradenitis suppurativa. Professor Balato has published more than 160 manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals.
